Pulling Back The Veil

Good Morning,
Have you ever had the feeling that your life is like a long lonely road. That as you walk down that road nobody notices or sees the struggles or devotions that you have. In those times I like to pull back the veil of life and picture God's angels on either side of that road of life saying good job, keep going don't give up. They hand out water to the runners along the race path giving them encouragement and refreshment as they trod along. They tell you to keep looking ahead that the race is almost finished and you are surely closer to the finish line. I remember it was Elisha, in 2 Kings 6 14-17 who brought up this picture for me:
14He (the king of Aram) sent horses and chariots and a great army there, and they came by night and surrounded the city. 15Now when the attendant of the man of God had risen early and gone out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was circling the city. And his servant said to him, "Alas, my master! What shall we do?" 16So he answered, "Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them." 17Then Elisha prayed and said, "O LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see " And the LORD opened the servant's eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. My angels have cups of water and clapping hands however the angles of the Lord also come with swords ready to fight for us. As my friend Lisa and I walked today, we always walk past this house where there are beautiful, gorgeous roses. The man of the house has seen us stop on several occasions admire and smell his beautiful treasures. On this day he happened to be out front readying himself to pick some of these beauties when he saw us admiring them once again. He offered to let us pick some with his clippers on our way back down the road and of course we agreed, who doesn't want beautiful roses for there table. After we walked up the hill down the dirt road and back again we noticed that on the curb in front of the roses were two nicely wrapped packages of fresh picked roses. We both felt this was a wonderful gift from our Father and as I walked down the road back to my car I felt I was in a beauty pageant with my roses cradled in my arms waving to the clapping angels on the sides of the road. It is good to see past the veil in life, to smell the roses and know that your Father in heaven sees you, loves you, and acknowledges you. Look past the veil in your life to see your Fathers joy, and acknowledge His love and what He has done for you. Just another day with Papa!

Smelling His Roses,
Diane Maldonado
