How can anyone do anything but sit and listen when it is pouring rain on the roof of your house. Here I am trying to get house work done which is virtually impossible because I am distracted by the sound of the beautiful rain. I just want to get a blanket lay down on the coach and listen. I wonder, if our Papa spoke to us in raindrops, would we want to lay down and listen to what He has to say. Slow down, take it easy, life will hurry by soon enough.
Lately it seems I only work in slow mode, Daddy has been telling me to slow down. I have had to learn the hard way that worrying and stress do not make your circumstances better. Only by trusting and believing in the great provider, our heavenly Father will these things in our life fade to a distant whisper.
Lately I have been thinking about the gift of life, how sometimes we are given a second chance to live. For some people this is literal. Maybe they were in an accident, or suffered some great illness and Papa brought them through. For others it is a life change. Maybe they were an alcoholic or drug addict or addicted to something that they couldn't break the bonds of. Do you remember the day your Father delivered you into a new life, I do. Days like this, rainy days, slow days, remind me of the infinite love Papa has for me even yet while I was in my sin. I am thankful that I have had the pleasure of watching four children grow. That I was able to be in their lives and have had the grace given to me to raise them. I am grateful for the husband that has provided for me to stay at home and nurture and love my four children. God has been gracious to me and if I were to meet my Father today or tomorrow I would say, thank you, your grace has given me way more than I deserved. What has grace given you?
Breathing And Saved By His Grace,
