Good Morning,
Yesterday I was at the beach, and as I sat on my chair I noticed this bee that had flown off course. He landed on the sand in front of me, behind me was a wall of rocks. So I sat for about a half an hour and watched this little bee. First the tide washed over him and he began the task of trying to dry his wings, heading towards the ocean as he did his little drying dance. It looked as if many times the tide would get him, or someone’s sandal, however he kept trudging closer and closer to the waters edge. Finally the tide pushed him back to right in front of me, so I tried to pick him up with seaweed to put him on a rock behind me, but Larry had to help. So he grabbed his wing gently and placed him on a rock. That little bee sat for a while, drunk from too much sea water and once again tried to dry his wings off. Now in front of him lay a great wall of rocks, which he would have to climb, if he didn't get his wings dry. However just beyond the wall was a beautiful garden with plenty of flowers for my new friend, whom I named George, so it was well worth the climb. If he can make it before the darkness comes or before some bird eats him he would survive. I realized as I watched my new pollinating friend, that sometimes we are like that bee. We at some time have been caught in the tides of life, constantly heading back into the same ocean of problems that we have prayed to be delivered from, only to be washed over by those problems again, and then pushed back to safety by some unseeing force. God then rescues us from the tides of life and places us on the rock, Christ. We look at the rock, we see how high it is, how hard the climb will be and we wait. We can't see the garden of joy that awaits us after the climb, and sometimes we even wish we were back in the tide, at least it was solid flat ground. I want to see what is beyond the climb, I want to relish each step I take as I strain towards the prize. God has always been there to help dry off my wings when I climb and fall, so I should not fear, instead I press on towards the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. I don't know what climb you have today or this week, just remember, what beauty comes after the climb, and that God is there to carry you through.
